We had Game Night at the church. I had signed up to take cookies and I love to play games so I was excited all week. I had to force Urban to come to the 'party' with me as he had just returned from the Lego store with a new set of Legos.
So we got there:
The cultural hall was decorated to the nines!! Our bishop's wife, Sis. Blackham organized, decorated, supplied games and prizes. Everything she does is done WELL. She also arranges fresh flower arrangements for the chapel every Sunday. We're talkin at least 3' X 3' sprays of all sorts of flowers, it's really breathtaking.
Anyway, tonight she had fresh flowers on tables that held finger foods and desserts. There were shrip with cocktail sauce, crab cakes a variety of gourmet cheeses and olives, and chicken salad croissants. I've never seen a ward party with such an amazing spread! I made Scotcheroos and took them on paper plates. How embarrassing!!! Her assistant quickly offered me a darling plate in the shape of dice and asked if I'd like to rearrange them on the dish. I did.
The children had a room with age appropriate games and Urban was soon playing Cooties with other kids. He had a great time and left with a huge chocolate bunny that he'd won and a bouquet of balloons that had been part of the decoration. He admitted that the church party was fun!
I had fun too, learning two new games! One was called Zipperhead that was a dice game and the other was a game the bishop's friends had designed called Gridlock using a board and two decks of cards. I teamed up with Kami, Joe, and Rachel for a few games.
I'm sooooo lucky to belong to such a wonderful group of sincere people!

Are you going to teach us the new games on our girls trip? Hope so.
